Hey, I’m Jon. Thanks for visiting. This site contains my work, my ideas, and some poor attempts at humor.
What am I interested in?
My main interests include technology, health, fitness, web development, video games, positive psychology, lucid dreaming and hot chocolate.
What do I do?
I’m a student majoring in Computer Science. I’ve worked full-time and part-time throughout school and I’m really looking forward to finishing my degree.
I’m the CTO of MyBodyTutor. I also work as a software engineer for the University of Florida with a great group of people. Most of my work consists of building web applications and working closely with researchers to help analyze, collect and manage health-related survey data. It’s all fun and rewarding, which I’m very grateful for.
For some reason I decided I’m not busy enough, so I also manage a few web sites and write for various blogs in my spare time. I’m the creator of these sites:
- Mario Kart Central
I created this site in 2002 and wrote 99% of the content myself. This is one of the most well-known sites on the Internet about the Mario Kart video game series by Nintendo. The site was featured a couple of times on Digg and Slashdot, which sent tens of thousands of visitors. - ZippyGamer
Created with my friend Joseph, this is a general gaming site that covers all types of games. It has grown to be fairly popular, and was mentioned on very well-known gaming blogs like Kotaku.
My purpose?
Every man needs a purpose, right? I’ll tell you mine with a bit of code:
// Jon's Purpose Loop while (jon == alive): be_happy(); be_useful();
Be happy and be useful. What else does a man need in life? Hot chocolate, I suppose…
